Pet Travel Certificates

Animal Health Certificate (AHC)

Are you planning to take your pet dog, cat or other pet to Europe? Since 2021, the law states that you will need an Animal Health Certificate (AHC). This certificate can only be issued by an official vet, and we strongly recommend that you allow at least one month to obtain your AHC in time for your trip. Your pet will need to be microchipped in order to travel.

Please note, there are different rules for EU countries, Northern Ireland and for non-EU countries. There is also separate guidance if you are bringing your pet to Great Britain.

VetShack is here to help. You can also find out more detailed information on gov.uk.
